It was a great start to the Clean Cooking Forum! We kicked off the event with an Opening Plenary and Plenary discussion featuring distinguished speakers such as Amitabh Kant, the Honorable Minister Hajia Alima Mahama, Dr. Yasmin Ali Haque, Naranyana Murthy, and many others. The day continued with sessions on driving demand in the sector, improving air quality, and lessons learned from women CEOs. Here are some of the highlights of the day.

Key Themes

*	Opening Plenary: Large-scale government programs are a step in the right direction, but they must be aligned with support for markets to be truly sustainable
*	From Push to Pull: How to Make Clean Cookstoves and Fuels Consumer-Driven Products: Solutions will ultimately need to focus on the needs of local communities while still being flexible in design in order to scale upwards.
*	Improving Air Quality: the Role of Clean Cooking: When it comes to influencing policy to address household air pollution exposure, it is useful to bring the government in as a partner, or use or advocate for research that interests the government.
*	Experiences from the Trenches: Lessons from Female CEOs in the Clean Cooking Sector: Those seeking to empower women in the sector must look beyond the technical and scientific research and focus on what women really need in clean cooking solutions.
