[Stoves] News: The Global Health Problem Of Household Air Pollution

It's not really household air pollution, only air pollution from solid
fuels for cooking and heating. All other air pollution in households extra.

Even so, now " estimated to cause over 2 million deaths annually."

Not even "to cause diseases that lead to over 2 million deaths", because no
such diseases or deaths are identified annually.

Emissions kill. By assumptions. Bring money and pals to sign off on lies.

Matthew Shapler is the new kid on the bandwagon. Will report on the the
underlying papers later, here some gems from this article:

"This study estimated that switching from a traditional wood to an improved
biomass cookstove would reduce PM2.5 kitchen concentrations by an average
of approximately 150 μg/m3 (395 to 251 μg/m3), while switching from a
traditional wood stove to a gas stove would reduce PM2.5 kitchen
concentrations by nearly twice that amount (395 μg/m3 to 104 μg/m3). While
104 is still above WHO guidelines, it represents a substantial decrease
that may have improved health benefits. For reference, the typical ambient
air pollution concentrations in the United States are usually in the range
of 7-12 μg/m3. "

Curious. If a gas stove leads to 104μg/m3 concentration, why is it compared
to US ambient air concentrations of PM2.5 and not US household kitchens?
Because US lives - Black or White - do not matter (even as it is the US
life expectancy that is declining, unlike Asian or African)?

Or because US people stay out and eat out while all the 3 billion people in
the world stay in their kitchen all the time? How else to interpret " Thus,
PM2.5concentrations in kitchens with polluting cookstoves can represent a
10-fold increase above what the average US resident breathes."?

There are no exposure data for any resident anywhere; all this is academic
fiction baked in arrogance.

The figure below is characterized as " You can see from Figure 4 that there
are clear differences in the concentrations of PM2.5 emitted from different
types of cooking fuel, and the concentration emitted from the same type of
cooking fuel varies by country. "

Wood, gas, coal, and dung are of course types of cooking fuel - though
non-gas fuel sub-types have large quality differences - but this is the
first time I have seen "improved biomass cookstove" as a fuel type.

Deaths are generated by vacuous models, assumptions, and citation to a
non-existent database of "emissions" worldwide.

Back in September 2007, Jacob Moss had produced this slide. Now it's five
Katrinas every day, three 9/11/01 attacks every day. So much for GACC
achievements.

Give me a million dollars and I will show that the $500 million spent on
GACC and related stove epidemiology research gained zero net aDALYs. Some
rich people ate imperial dinners and propounded imperialist ideology to
pocket the monies.
