Dear Crispin;
Thanks for your suggestions. I will give them a shot in the near future.
It would be very useful to have an explanation for the pulsing in small
diameter concentrators.
In the meantime, I have an experiment to complete, and I will post the
results shortly. When I do, everyone will have a much better idea of the
context of my work.
Briefly, I think it is important to have a better understanding of
concentrator ring ND-TLUDs because they are simple to build, and in many
situations, that may be the type of stove local people prefer to build.
Because of their relevance, concentrator ring ND-TLUDs can be a useful
benchmark against which to compare other types of natural draft TLUDs in
research experiments.
However, at the same time, I am trying to improve the low-power performance
of 'internal riser' or counter current burners. These burners are also
simple to build, yet may be cleaner and more efficient than concentrator
ring TLUDs.
Stay tuned; I have more to come on this subject of "Studies of pressure
variations in a TLUD"
Cheers,
Julien.
