Dear Crispin,The most creative use of the money would be to use a small portion of it to set up a system-thought-through method of making the stoves and fuel in an integrated manner to the community, keeping its needs first. For instance, most stoves are designed with no optimum size of fuel in mind.If pellets are to be used, what is the proportion of length to  diameter of the pellets? Are they just round, or are they oblong - do they get rid of ash automatically as they burn; how close to each other do they stack so that air flow is nearly same across the burn process?Who owns the pellet machine and are there going to be multiple machines within the community? In what size bags/tins, buckets are the pallets to be sold in retail? Will the pellets be available from 5AM to 10 pm in the village? How much will the retailer earn during a month?I have never seen such an integrated approach to stove  based community effort. If there is some money, try this experiment.RegardsAshok

Dear Friends of Malawi

Are you creative?

There is a fund to support creative works which could conceivably include artisanal clay stoves and there is money looking for a home.

I see the current round is closed but keep an eye on this space. It seems to be a permanent initiative.
