Stovers,
when one of Kevin’s advisers team, Mr. Guillain Malyamungu Nabahya from Congo informed me about the rockbed technology in 2019, I started to spread it through my „AfriShiners“ network throughout East Africa. It is now widely used in Uganda, the Lake Victoria region of Kenya and in the Kwale district in Kenya.
My test results are somehow different from those of Kevin’s aides: 5 liters of water boil within 19 minutes (cold start) all the way to the local boiling point 96C. Simmering: down to 82.2C within 45 minutes. The total wood consumption, a mix of Eucalyptus and Leucaena during rainy season, was 0.709 kg including kindling material. Yes, I measure in 10th of degrees.
For saving wood significantly, I have a dissemination program to build fireless cookers (insulated baskets) all over East Africa. Have a look at the video at https://youtu.be/hQdwmbsRjlg <https://youtu.be/hQdwmbsRjlg> which is the only video on Youtube showing the process of making fireless cookers, completely.
I documented all the processes detailled. Anyone who wants a photo series and test results may have them upon request.
Have a nice weekend.
