Every now and then each major kiln owner was contacted for a special burn. They arrive in an enormous truck loaded with money. It is loaded into a brick kiln, typically of an older type (not a Hoffman) and, surrounded by soldiers, it is set alight.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US style='color:#1F497D'>The remains is a thick, white, powdery ash layer on the bottom of the kiln. I presume this is kaolin, added to the cloth and paper to give it high resolution printability. I am not sure about the heat gain from burning money briquettes.
