Hey from the Talamanca,<br>The Estufa Finca project is 9 months into distribution of our biochar producing stove here in S.E. Costa Rica. We have coupled the stove distribution with a training program modeled on USAID's Farmer Field Training School methodology and a Biochar "buy-back" program.<br>
We have enthusiastic cooks and a waiting list. In the 1st few months of the "buy-back" program we have already collected 2.5 tons of stove-made biochar. This char is going into research, demonstration projects and <b>we are selling i</b>t. I hope to have a preliminary report out early in 2013. Any success with a TLUD in this environment is quite a statement. This is a tough tropical environment. It just rained for 28 days. I'm very encouraged. People love their stoves.<br>We have some significant improvements that need to happen in terms of durability and an affordable cook-top for multiple pots. Those improvements are prototyped early in the coming year.<br>

Cambodia in March 2013. Not much there about biochar, so it is<br>
unlikely that you will attend. But I will be there and I (and others)<br>
would like to have your data / results about acceptance of "stoves that<br>
make biochar" (probably aka TLUDs ). Please make every effort to make<br>
the results available in time.<br>
