It is more difficult to ascertain the extent of actual use of the various TLUD’s in areas where they are being developed or manufactured. Last year at this time Dr. Muhammad Nurhuda informed us of some impressive numbers of low cost (Kompor Biomass) TLUDs being manufactured and sold in Indonesia. I heard at ETHOS in January that a very small number of TLUD stoves and heaters developed in the Philippines and Vietnam are actually use by small businesses or households. Is this technology still in evolution? Where can we find significant deployment?
