On the one hand, I was trying to be a bit cute; however, animal
pests are sometimes dealt with best by violence.<br>

When you hit a briquette with an air rifle you have acceptable
collateral damage. Naturally, you should aim to hit the rodents.<br>
<br>
I think you'll have cost effectiveness problems with the steel wool
method.<br>
<br>
If someone in a given area became proficient with the methodology
and tools necessary the sniping alternative might turn out to be
something that is generally good for the community, especially in
view of the fast population growth of rat infestations.<br>

For those who not offended by hunting rodent pests.<br>
