If the baseline stove is an open fire, you are allowed to use 10% instead of conducting a survey. </div><div><br></div><div>Note that the thermal efficiency does not always represent fuel consumption and the method intends to predict consumption reduction. If you are being funded for reductions in consumption and the method of assessment gives the wrong answer you can get into trouble with your funding partner (for failing to deliver). Fuel efficient means it uses less new fuel per cycle, not fancy math that pretends it uses less. The GEF/CDM intends to reduce the draw down of unsustainably harvested biomass. you can't get that funding for saving fuel that is sustainably harvested.
