<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body dir="auto"><div>Tom, </div><div><br></div><div>As I have show in previous posts, the use of a gap for secondary air, NOT holes, combined with the use of washers above the gap as deflectors, works well to increase turbulence/mixing of the air and fuel as well as to increase residence time in the combustion zone. This tends to keep the flame mostly in the TLUD and prevent long flame tails from streaming out of the TLUD.
