Thanks also for the recent summary you gave of the 14 points discussed in detail in this WHO report. I found the report to be well written by knowledgeable people, However, they apparently failed to have any authors who have been investigating char-making stoves - the topic of about half the messages on this list. I see a little recognition under the term “fans” - but hope others more familiar with this WHO report can explain more on this lapse. (And Aprovecho was not well enough represented either in that WHO study.)</div><div><br></div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>And how biochar can promote better stove performance - if we ever see carbon credits.</div><div><br></div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>5. I don’t see as much enthusiasm in this report for LPG as we have recently discussed on this list re GACC comments on LPG. ETHOS was created 14 years ago to bring the lab and field closer together, to give field and lab workers a place to exchange knowledge and ideas. <div><br></div><div>This is an especially interesting year! The Department of Energy funded six projects to research and create 'Tier 4' stoves: biomass cookstoves that protect human health and address climate change. These projects will report their progress and 'Tier 4' stoves will be displayed and lit in the courtyard!</div><div><br></div><div>The Global Alliance has also accomplished so many things this year, just recently having fund raised 700 million dollars for stove projects. ETHOS provides a space for interacting and asking questions. What is happening with the ISO standards?
