We can thank Karl Marx and Max Weber for their respective critiques of free will capitalism and bureaucratic socialism, clear our heads of ideological abstractions, and focus our minds and hearts on the challenge of creating a sustainable inclusive economy which offers modest property and meaning work for all its able bodied members. If we need a label let's call it communitarian economics. But what's in the name when it's the challenge of full, meaningful, and environmentally appropriate employment that is at the heart of our struggle for a new world order in which humanity can live out its destiny on this little blue green planet we call home.
