Mahbubul gave a paper at the Clean Cooking Forum in Ghana that emphasized local stoves (as opposed to foreign stoves subsidized by carbon credits). Our punch lines were:<BR></DIV>

<DIV><BR></DIV>Dear Friends,<BR>The present video shows how the squatter community at San Pedro Beach in Old Sagay, Negros Occidental, Philippines coped after Typhoon Haiyan (locally known as Yolanda) struck the central Visayas on November 8, 2013. This video builds on two earlier ones (see below) and tackles the issue of sustainability of the Eco-Kalan Kitchen and the children's feeding program with a livelihood project in that community. Two years after Typhoon Haiyan, the Eco-Kalan Project held the "Launching of the Eco-Kalan & Bingka Oven for Livelihood".<BR>Members of the community can cook any food with the kawa or kalaha (wok) and kaldero (cooking pots) using the eco-KALAN-C stove; and bake any food with the Bingka Oven fired by an eco-KALAN-C-O stove using wood or charcoal.
