The article is almost 20 months old, but it is really essential
reading if interested in stoves in India. Long, but worth
reading. Mentions some of the names we all know: PCIA, GACC,
Kirk Smith, the Karves, Indian national programs and stove leaders
back to the 1970s, EnviroFit, Biolite, Oorja (of BP), Philips,
LPG, and so much more. Stories of adjustments and compromise. <br>
<br>
In some ways, the stories are both energizing and disappointing.
But is should be read.<br>
<br>
Some great quotes can come from it. And a "Reply Comment" by
Crispin that correctly takes aim at the misconception that the
FUELS cause the bad emissions. <br>
<br>
A month back I wrote to this Listserv and Kirk Smith about his
lumping together (as producing poor emissions) all stoves that use
dry biomass fuels. Kirk and I exchanged a few personal messages,
and he has assured me that soon he will have a further comment
about this issue.<br>

In case you are wondering, natural draft TLUD micro-gasifiers never
got mentioned in an article as recent as April 2015. So, IMO, an
update article will be needed in 2017, (if this message gets
forwarded to <span class="m_4277051331233731872uppercase"><a href="http://www.caravanmagazine.in/profile/798" target="_blank">Vaishnavi
