Kirk and Dean, (I have added in the Stoves Listserv that has
missed several messages (that are below). I did not realize until
Dean's most recent message that he is not subscribed to the Stoves
Listserv. So we can make efforts to forward any comments from him,
or to him at his email address.)<br>

I look forward to the info that is coming. And you have given a
great announcement for this summer's Stove Camp at Aprovecho. At
least 3 different stoves (but all are more or less TLUDs /
micro-gaifiers) by 1. Harris NEW DESIGN the model 318, 2. the
model 316 by Harris with mentioned improvements by Dean and Co.,
and 3. some design with capabulities for making electricity. <br>

Are we talking about the same stove? The original reference was for

also awarded $300,000 to commercialize a clean-burning,

<p class="MsoNormal">I did early on contribute to this
new type of stove, but it is Dean who came up with the
keystone that holds everything together. The
technique Dean created to make the new stove work is
excellent in several ways. First it creates a lot of
surface contact between the burning wood gas and the
secondary air, after giving the gas some time to burn
and break down the hydrocarbons. Second it is
incredibly simple and will be very cheap to make.
Third it can be made out of ceramic, so it will have a
very long life span (Dean insisted on this). Fourth
it can be refueled, kind of a combination batch and
hand fed arrangement. Fifth it is versatile enough to
use different types of fuel. I made some early
contributions, but Dean kept the right contributions
and discarded the not so good ones and brought the
design to where it now is. I think the major problem
now is how to deal with char build-up, unless Dean has
solved this. The new design will have to prove itself
to those in the field, and I am sure it will.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I am building a new stove, working
on a next generation Wonderwerk stove (the old
Wonderwerk was designated 316 since it was developed
in March 2016, the new one will be 318 since the
testing that proved the concept was in March 2018).
The tests I did at Aprovecho in March showed it can
get more than twice the power (I would guess
unofficially 8 kw) while still burning mostly with
flat line particulates and CO. I did lose turn-down,
clean start-up and clean transition to coals, but I’m
confident that I can get them back. It should be
ready to present at stove camp this summer. The stove
has changed considerably from its roots, the
Champion. Ron used a very narrow slit for secondary
air in one of his stoves. I am finding this useful.</p>

The grant it to your company. You should do it. I
was at ETHOS and somehow missed what it was that you
have now turned into a success (for the grant and for
the future.). I am not sure to what extent Kirk is
involved in the grant bexause it is now for ramping to
commercialization, with production in China. That is
your accomplishment. Good to give recognition to
Kirk, but this grant is to your company/operation (I
assume with others, but not known to me at this time.)<br>

Perhaps you could take the application for the Phase
II SBIR grant and delete any sensitive parts and just
send the rest to us (the Stove Listserv, not just to
Ron and me.)<br>
