<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-US">Get some of the char dust and mix it with a very small amount of ‘binder’ by which I mean glue. It could be made from plantain skins or sugar mill waste molasses or absolutely anything that is slightly
sticky. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-US">Then soak the pumice rocks into the mix – add water if needed to make it absorb properly. The ‘glue’ is to hold it together long enough to get it dry.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-US">When you are finished you will have pumice soaked in char powder. Put it into a fire and see how it burns. The idea is to use (and re-use) the pumice as a carrier of the powder with the absolute
minimum of binder – it might work without any, but I doubt it. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-US">Other binders include fine clay slurry and something called “dung water” and clay. Perhaps you know what dung water is. It will make certain clays set like weak cement. Again, you only need a small
amount. Avoid clay if you can because it will probably attach to the pumice when burned. Probably as mashed, boiled couple of plantains in a lot of water will make a good enough binder to hold powder.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-US">It might emerge that this fuel is a viable alternative to lump charcoal at a price that is just about 100% labour.
