Dear List,
I never tested Arundo but had a similar experience with chopped pieces
of hybrid Napier, a fast growing fodder grass. On the other hand,
leaves of alfafa or Leucaena, both dicots and legumes. and Eichornia
(water hyacinth) gave good results.
