Dear Sir or Madam,

the “Progress in Biogas” International Conference takes place for third time on 10th and 11th September 2014. During the two-days conference and the one-day field trip (12th September) the progress of the development at different domestic and agricultural biogas plants, the use of biogas as fuel, the flexibility of biogas production, the state of the art of the biogas technologies, the digestate application and management and the biogas generation from waste in Germany and around the world will be presented. This time the participants will have the opportunity to use our “Biogas Question Time” with specialized biogas field experts to talk about a specific topic or problem. Moreover, a relaxed interaction among the participants will take place during the evening reception at the first day of the conference.

For the plenary session we are seeking papers dealing with the following topics:
Detail about the CALL for Papers can be found here: http://progress-in-biogas.com

1. Domestic biogas plants:
Systems, implementation options / examples; domestic sewage, garbage/waste, animal excreta, human excreta; improvement of sanitation; technical innovations – year-round plant operation; use of gas: electricity production, heating and cooling, lighting; appropriate technical equipment / Appropriate technologies – climatic zones of the earth; economic conditions and profitability / costs; security; acceptance; emissions; minimum requirement for the gas quality

2. Agricultural biogas plants (farm scale biogas plants):
Process; manure biogas plants; substrates; efficiency and economy; security; emissions

3. Biogas generation from industrial, communal and municipal, bio-waste:
Co-fermentation in local circuitry; waste from the food production; agricultural industrial waste; hygiene; suitable raw materials – necessary waste separation

4. Flexibility of biogas production and use:
Storage, intermediate storage; isolated solutions; targeted generation; flexible production; networking with other renewable energy sources; power to gas

5. Biogas as vehicle fuel:
Use in agricultural tractors and vehicles; preparation techniques; economy; quality requirements for the final product; small processing and energy recovering systems

6. Digestate application and management:
Sanitation; soil improvement; humus generation

7. Innovative fermentation and digester construction methods:
Hydrolysis; 2-Phase nature; improved lagoon models

8. Innovative heat applications concepts:
Secondary based electricity generation – electricity from heat; cooling; heat grid-connections; micro gas-grid; district heating concepts

9. Decentralized small scale biogas systems:
Technical, economical and social cooperative structures
