[Gasification] USBI Biochar 2016 Conference News and Updates

I just received a message very similar to this one, but the subject is “the Concorde Group”.

The body of the message says that “this email address belongs to the US Customs service ---“ and to “unsubscribe immediately under penalty of law” .  I assume that is a scam and that the unsubscribe link will take you to a nefarious place.

Alberta Innovates - Technology Futures is pleased to contribute to Biochar 2016!

We invite you to join us at the conference and visit us at our show booth! Our display will highlight the advances AITF has made in biochar research and our ongoing contribution to the Alberta Biochar Initiative (ABI). Some of our ABI member companies will join us at our booth.   

As a founding member of the Alberta Biochar Initiative (ABI), Alberta Innovates’ Thermochemical Processing (TCP) group operates biochar research and quality testing facilities in Vegreville, Alberta approximately 100 kilometres east of Edmonton, Canada. 

The multi-disciplinary team has spent the last 10 years developing biochar production methodologies using biomass feedstocks from Alberta-sourced agricultural, forestry, and municipal waste residues. Over the past five years, these efforts have significantly increased to include two ABI demonstration-scale mobile pyrolysis units to the previously developed lab, bench and pilot scale facilities. The optimization of these facilities and the enhanced analytical capabilities make Alberta Innovates a premier development and testing services facility for western Canada. 

The TCP group can 1) Optimize biochar (and advanced carbon) production processes to meet clients’ desired end-use applications and specifications, 2) perform client equipment performance validation and emissions profiling, 3) analyze feedstocks and finished biochar products for CFIA product registration in Canada, and 4) conduct feasibility studies and technology assessments to de-risk client investment.
