In this case Gennaro, I believe they were specifically referring to
ventilating of the attic to alleviate infiltration of moist humid air.

I would think that ventilation of the attic also addresses overheating
issues in the summer though, and not only the winter moist air issue.
After having been forced to roll around in fibreglass in 50C heat this
pack week (18C outdoor temp), I can tell you that lack of ventilation
and overheating is not fun to deal with.
