Hi guys,

As mentioned, we've just bought a 1930's home here in Central TX that
has no HVAC system. We got a quote for this unit:

Carrier/Bryant
3-ton/2-speed
Puron refrigerant
17.5 SEER HVAC system with gas heat.
Silverback flexduct (optional), copper refrigerant lines,
condensation drain line and low voltage wire for thermostat.
Supply and return registers
HW 6000 thermostat
4" media filter for allergy control

We also have the option of doing metal ductwork instead, and we've
planned on doing that.

This sounds good to us, but I'm wondering if y'all have any thoughts
on it. The main thing we're questioning is the size of the unit.
The home is 1421 SF, one story, uninsulated (for now, but we're
adding that), awnings over all windows, most of which are the
originals. I plan on fixing them up, caulking, weather stripping,
all that good stuff. The unit will be in conditioned space.

Is this a good choice for us?

Thanks so much!
