[Greenbuilding] clever idea

Craftsmen and women who can create - are doing a lot more than just
executing the design, they are making the object real, and will profoundly
impact the ability of the project to succeed or fail.  His solar water
purifier isn't using on mass production, and it takes skilled workmanship to
pull it off.  They are really the best part of the project... so I think the
slang applies.

I'm familiar with that slang, and briefly considered the possibility that he
was using the term in that way. But since in this example the local
craftsmen, presumably, would merely be executing his idea I really don't see
how this fits. If they were coming up with the design, then perhaps.
