[Greenbuilding] Pedaling vs. PV power

Here's a page, with photos, about a pedal generator that I helped John 
Gulland build for a neighbour, so she could extend the capacity of her 
very small solar system. It worked fairly well, at charging up a laptop, 
but it would require about six or eight hours a day use to run a 
refrigerator.
That's a lot of pedaling!
