Barry,

We use Sketchup to model shadows and daylighting. It has a date  and time of day slider window. We mostly use the pro version, which costs a few bucks. It has a Lat / Long. function as well. Sketchup is also available as a free download; not sure if the free version offers Lat / Long. or not, but it will let you model time of day and date.
