[Greenbuilding] a comprehensive, authoritative text

I like what you're doing, Alan.
And I'll add my two cents, as if it's intended to be of assistance:

Carbon-emitting materials manufacturing versus carbon sequestering
materials use'
is the most immediate thing we can look at.
Most immediate in environmental-savings-payback. We really don't want to
wait 30 years, while hi-tech solutions and highly embodied energy
materials often take that long to balance the carbon release equation.
My interest in Passive House design, energy efficiency, techno solutions
has totally waned, unless the entire new materials list can show a
carbon balance. Far more important in residential design is carbon
neutrality inuse of materials and construction processes. I don't think
we have 30 years to make a difference.

See Chris Magwood's new book. He has crunched the numbers for us all.
Very helpful, frresh way of thinking. And it's not all that pretty.

Cheers,
