[Greenbuilding] white roof

Hi, Benjamin—

Very unusual looking house, with the pilasters along the walls, small windows and the panel cladding. Might be concrete post and beam?

At a guess the white roof is intended to provide cooling by reflecting sunight and re-emitting absorbed heat (also the overhangs, which don’t appear to have any gutters or downspouts, might be intended to shade the walls). You can find more about ratings of sheet roofing materials at the Cool Roofs web site, www.coolroofs.org <http://www.coolroofs.org/>.

Best,

Mike O'Brien
