[Digestion] Biogas Groups

G'day All,

 

When replying to a post please delete earlier posts (except possibly the
most recent that you are discussing) to shorten the messages - if people
need to they can go to the Archives to see the background.

 

This must be a good group, as some weeks I do no moderation and I don't
really spend that much time on the Listserver (except skimming the posts),
thanks for being so responsible.

 

I have set up the Australian Biogas Group on Google Groups and it seems to
work quite well, except that now we need to have a separate website on
Google Sites, but that's quite easy to manage as well.

Thanks Tom, 

TO address that issues, we are going to have a position that includes, among
other duties, moderation of the Spanish discussion and promotion of the
discussion group.  We have anticipated 10 hours per week, part of which I
hope can be used to find and translate interesting discussions and questions
from other discussion boards.  Do you see a way in which we could co-op part
of your initial efforts to get the biomass group into spanish?  This project
is funded by the Inter American Development Bank and the US EPA, and will be
run by the Latin America and Caribbean Biodigestion Network in order to
promote further diffusion of AD technology in the region.  More on this
later as we launch our website, with a really solid library started in
Spanish.  

On a technical front, we are thinking about running our dicussion group as a
Google Group.  Any thoughts on list-serv technology and other options?  The
google option allows us to archive directly to our site, and gives us the
power of google products, documents etc.
