One idea to entertain is to build digesters near to their end user.
This would result in many more biogas digesters but distributed over a
larger area would enable better application ( and cheaper ) of the
digestate!
Collection points for the biomaterial would require it to be shredded and
put into liquid suspension for transport to the distributed locales of the
digesters.
