Hi, Sacie--

As you know, mold grows where there is moisture, food, air and comfy temperatures. Shower stalls are a good source of moisture, food is provided by dust, skin flakes and sometimes substrates but probably not plaster itself, air is the same we breathe and temperature range the same we like. So first likely cause is moisture remaining on the walls.

Are you thinking about ways to reduce the mold?

Best,
