[Greenbuilding] 2000 miles on a scooter to get to the green building conference

It is a slang term originating from our experience of how the word is often
pronounced by citizens of the US. Similar to 'merkin' and 'merka'. I'm not
sure I would take it as an insult but then I am canadian. I don't think the
term is a canadianism though - the only specifically Canadian term that I
remember from my youth being applied to people from the 'states' is 'people
from the states' as we usually referred to the place as 'the states' and
'those americans' which was a pretty common figure of speech used a lot when
discussing our economy, general sense of well-being or in any discussion
about the world in general.

What the hell is a murrican? It sounds like an insult to a specific group of
people.
