[Greenbuilding] Fixture Folly

Muriatic acid works great! I cleaned up a toilet that had been exposed to
rusty well water for a long time, (I had to take it outside of course) and
now the toilet looks brand new !

Ben,
What "acid" do you use? I haven't found anything common that works.
Thanks,
Bill

just remove the old one, clean it up (use an acid to get rid of all
the calcium and lime deposits if neccessary), go to the hardware store
and get new washers, o rings, and seats if it needs them.
Should work as good as new, cost you less than 10 bucks, and still be
original to the house (if that matters).
I've done this many times--did one just yesterday, actually.

Remember "renew" is one of the 3 R's
