Sanjay is correct here; these houses are shacks by Amercan/western
standards, built basically to keep out the elements, mostly rain, the
emphasis on 'mostly' because as he suggests, there are lots of openings.
There is no 'proper' sealing and certainly no conditioning, just look at the
photos.  Until someone had the wonderfully simple idea of filling pop
bottles with water and putting these in holes made for them in the roofs,
they were dark shelters.  And of course one might try to fill in the holes
created by making the hole, but I am pretty sure it wouldn't have been
filled with caulk.   Sacie
