Dear Clothes Dryer Manufacturer and Other Interested Stakeholder: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is pleased to announce the launch of an effort to develop a new ENERGY STAR® specification for clothes dryers. The attached launch letter provides an overview of the ENERGY STAR program, explains the Program’s interest in clothes dryers, and shares EPA’s initial thoughts on this product category and the anticipated Version 1.0 timeline. EPA is planning to begin specification development efforts with a Draft 1 proposal, scheduled to be shared with stakeholders in August 2012, followed by a stakeholder meeting to discuss this draft specification. Stakeholders that have not directly received this e-mail and are interested in receiving stakeholder mailings and notifications during this specification development process should provide contact information to appliances at energystar.gov, requesting to be added to the contact list for clothes dryers. Please direct any questions about the specification development process to Amanda Stevens, EPA, at stevens.amanda at epa.gov or (202) 343-9106; or Sean Southard, ICF International, at sean.southard at icfi.com or (202) 862-1585. Questions on the clothes dryer test method should be directed to Ashley Armstrong, DOE, at Ashley.Armstrong at ee.doe.gov or (202) 586-6590. Thank you for your continued support of ENERGY STAR. For more information, visit: www.energystar.govThis message was sent to you on behalf of ENERGY STAR. Each ENERGY STAR partner organization must have at least one primary contact receiving e-mail to maintain partnership. If you are no longer working on ENERGY STAR, and wish to be removed as a contact, please update your contact status in your MESA account. If you are not a partner organization and wish to opt out of receiving e-mails, you may call the ENERGY STAR Hotline at 1-888-782-7937 and request to have your mass mail settings changed. Unsubscribing means that you will no longer receive program-wide or product-specific e-mails from ENERGY STAR.
