The author didn’t mention in the abstract, borate or 20 mule team laundry
detergent.  Either one, line dry overnight then rewash the detergent out or
tumble dry.

Thanks for that!  Tough little critters.  I thought surely that the hot 
wash setting (higher than 60°C on our washer) would kill them, but 
apparently that's not assured.
