You need a system, like 43 Folders, to remember such things.  I have 
"clean out the septic tank's exit filter" in mine, with a note for the 
year I did it last.  I do it, pop it into the folder for next year, and 
when it comes up again, I see that I don't need to do it this year, and 
I pop it ahead again, and then it comes up right when I need it (in 
April, when the ground is thawed but the black flies aren't lying in wait).

On the other hand, this filter would not SUFFER from being cleaned 
annually.  It's just an unpleasant job, so why do it more often than I must?
