Somebody stole an oil heater? That is too funny.

My first thought is that perhaps they are rare in Northern California
because "we" have found other more efficient ways to manage the problem. I
am sure there are lots of other thoughts out there, besides mine. I have a
1939 house, that I moved, and before I moved it the oil heater in the
basement was stolen, but I didn't want to heat with oil in this environment
anyway. A boiler sounds interesting, and I will be interested in reading
the other responses that you get. Good luck!

I am contemplating buying a house that has a boiler and baseboard radiators.
The house was built in 1975. I've never experienced these so was wondering
how they work, are they maintenance problems, are they quiet or noisy (like
a wall furnace), are they an efficient way to heat?

These are rare here in Coastal California.

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Steve
