I did the energy modeling for a building in my climate which was 
designed with massive walls (insulation in the middle).  I used the data 
from Minnesota as my basis.  The building has NOT performed up to the 
level that was suggested by the literature.  However, it HAS performed 
better than a light building of the same insulation level.  The building 
is NOT occupied full time, which is not the recommended profile for such 
a building.

At any rate, the claims are for benefits averaged over a full year, 
saying it won't perform well in the three weeks of January isn't a 
surprise even to its most ardent supporters.
