David,
   Well, I don't know about PowerPoint, don't use it much.
   I have both Microsoft & Open Office on my machines.  I now find I 
prefer Open Office for Text& Spreadsheet functions, and OO Draw over 
Visio for drawings (anything short of work requiring TurboCAD with its 
3D capabilities), though I have to admit that OO spreadsheet import (of 
text files) isn't as flexible as Excel.
