Richard: Are your Canadian health officials as corrupt as America's? Do they agree with the May 2012 EPA Report to Congress: Radon in Drinking Water Regulations @ http://water.epa.gov/lawsregs/rulesregs/sdwa/radon/upload/epa815r12002.pdf? It's a heinous fraud largely responsible for America's 300% rise in 2nd cancers & 70% rise in new cancers since the 1970s, when corrupt EPA officials excluded Uranium, Radon-222 and its most deadly progeny, Lead-210 -- grandparent of Polonium-210 -- from the Radionuclides Rule of 1976. (See "More cancer patients get disease again"; by Marilynn Marchione, Newsday, 8/25/15) All Green builders should read comments by their respective State Health Departments; like these from Gennaro's:New York: Emphasized the economic costs of reducing radon levels to 300 pCi/Lwater versus 4,000 pCi/Lwater and added that there is no real change to public health by decreasing the MCL. Also argued that it was an equity issue and that problems would be created if some water systems within a state had lower standards than others. Environmentalists in New York want equal protection in all systems. (pg. 21)New York: Commented that they would also have trouble with an MMM program as the state currently does not certify radon mitigators. They would also prefer a single MCL of 4,000 pCi/L or above. At 4,000pCi/L, they estimate that there would be approximately 20 systems that would need mitigation. They also felt that there is no direct correlation with radon in indoor air and radon in water. (pg. 30) Carmine
