[Greenbuilding] Multiple-effect dryers

An efficient dryer could be a well-insulated column still with wet clothes surrounded by hot air in the bottom, and condensing water under a tray above that, with more clothes over the tray, and so on.
How can we make this into a continuous vs batch process?
