[Greenbuilding] wall surfaces for open shower?

I am surprised seeing someone promoting PVC on the Greenbuilding list. 
PVC is a plague on the planet. Rarely recycled and a horror for the 
people making it, not to mention the toxins generated in its production.

Might as well use Azek on decks, while we’re at it!
