Dear Philip

>>Philip that is downright amazing. 1000 ppm would kill most adults in a
>>few minutes.

>The measurements were done by Bob Freeman visiting from the USDoE. It was
great fun - he had
>been equipped with some carefully calibrated monitors.

Well there has to be something interesting for a PhD in there somewhere.
Clearly those who survived as infants went on to live in a high CO
environment.

In Lesotho some family was sitting in a thick cloud of cow dung smoke
getting out of the cold. They were asked, how on earth can you live in this
smoke?? They replied they were used to it. Simple as that.

It is remarkable what mankind can survive!

Crispin
