[Stoves] Hilary Clinton announcing $50 million for cleaner cookstoves

  Richard,

Well, now we are actively seeking out avenues of funding for these
types of projects.
Our partner in Germany, who also works with a foundation, is ready to
undertake a stove project in Lesotho, but the hurdle is, as always, the
same problem that always seems to crop up, which is: guess what?
: Financing. :
The announcement by Clinton about the "Global Alliance" was exciting
to learn and we have contacted them (no reply yet). Our aim is to
demonstrate that by integrating Biochar-to-soils into the "Clean
Cookstoves" paradigm that we can achieve an ROI that is "greater than
the sum of the parts".
I.e. in terms of /*total "biomass (i.e. carbon) savings"*/ -- we are
looking at it from the perspective of not only "*fuel use*" but also
"*fuel re-growth*". Let's say that even if a gasifier (i.e.
"biochar-producing") stove does require 20% more fuel, if it produces a
Biochar product that, if integrated into a composting and bio-waste
recycling system, ultimately produces 30% more biomass from the
surrounding environment because of the regeneration of soils and
improved agriculture and forest regeneration, then this stove type
[biochar-producing gasifier]/* can be justified*/.
This is 'big picture' thinking that we are trying to apply, but we do
want to prove that it will work (or not) in a real-world setting.
