Dear Paal

>The Peko Pe is not a stove, it is an energy unit, more like a battery,
filled with energy to be put into a stove.

Perhaps it is more common to say that it is a combustor that it fit into a
stove body, whatever way one like to build it.

I agree. That is the right way to think of it. Top-lighting is the right way
to light it.

More indirectly you also said that the smoke is not made by the fuel, but by
the stove. When you find the stove+fuel combination is smoky, you adjust the
stove until it is matched to the fuel in question. That shows that smoke is
produced by the stove, more than the fuel. Fuel on its own has no smoke in
it.

I prefer to say that the combination is what makes or does not make the
smoke, but when thinking of a car and putting in either gasoline or diesel,
it is obvious that the car makes the smoke, not the fuel, if the engine is
not designed to burn it.

Regards

Crispin in cool Johannesburg
