Phil,
Can you wait until December maybe January ?

We trained about 24 producers last June and are returning to train up those of the initial group who are more articulate and interested --as trainers in November.

We will be accompanying two of them to Oaxaca in December to backstop them in what will be their first regional training event, but after that they should be ready to travel to other regions in meso- america as well. See photos in the news section of our website. Pine needles are part of the resources they are using in Guatemala.

I live on 110 hectares in Nicaragua which is primarily pine forest. I would like to turn what is a fire danger into fuel. I have talked about this in a few places but never got very close to what would make it work. Or, more accurately, got a lot of conflicting information.

I am very willing to experiment but if I don't have to start from scratch, that would be great.

What I hope to be able to do is create a business for locals to make briquettes and sell them.
