It would be mostly for removing surface water from the heather. There
is no scope for preheating combustion air as this is mostly entrained
at the front of the device. As burning can only take place in winter
months ( damage to herpetological  species in summer plus very big
risk of fire runaway) when humidity is 70% and dew or rain on the
heath.

The device is purely a habitat management tool.
