Dear BOB LANGE,

greetings from Karagwe district, kagera region in the north western part of
Tanzania. I am personally happy to read about your work in the Maasai stoves
and solar project. You have raised some good personal impact questions that
should be at the heart of every project: was it saving them labor and time?
We can add:... and making life better for them?

I am working with the EDEN CENTRE FOR APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY , a new
facility that I am working to build as a demonstration of working
technologies, a transfer centre for proven/ tested technologies and a place
for innovation. Cooking food is at the fore front because, Karagwe district
as a whole has suffered several years of deforestation through a number of
reasons and if people's lives have to be better, simple, cheap and
appropriate ways for fuel wood saving is very important.

I am writing therefore to ask you to work along side with me to train,
demonstrate and replicate any simple fuel saving technologies that may be
available off the shelf (in the first place). ideally I am also looking for
volunteers who are wiling to invest time and money with me here in Karagwe.
Accommodation and meals would be arranged and provided to volunteers.

karibu Karagwe. You are most welcome to Karagwe.

regards,

Joseph Sekiku
