Josh (with ccs - and adding the biochar list.)
I agree - we rarely see food in these sorts of educational materials.
I have added the biochar list as a cc, since much of Jock's roughly half-hour talk on STEM is related to biochar - not just the stove ideas (pyrolysis is the key term) .
We need more such educational material. Thanks to Jock for making this a priority in his stove-biochar involvement.

My god I just realized how powerful this image is - to see (what I consider to be) a very appetizing meal being cooked on one of these devices.
With the exception of Dr. O's rice husk gasifiers, most stoves usually look so junky. It really makes a difference to see real-food-that-I-want-to-eat sizzling away in Jock's photo.
Or maybe I'm making too much of this since dinner is running late tonight....

Friends,
You may find this two year old video of interest, or at least amusing.

I have to also admit that I used to use round holes for secondary air. I ended up using three clusters of holes, with holes at at least three levels, with the clusters 120 degrees apart. I got good results from this approach.
Here is a photo of an iCan made from two Costco coffee cans being used to cook eggs and bacon. Please do not be offended if you are vegan. I wanted to show the creation of a typical North American meal on a pyrolytic device.

This stove used a several layers of secondary air holes, one ring went all the way around,
Note that the larger holes were in clusters of three set 120 degrees apart.
Cheers,
Jock
