I would think the best method of handling large amounts of moist organics to make into usable products would be composting. This kills diseases and stabilizes the carbon (problems on environment (society). To determine its usefulness if made into a biochar I suggest making a sample of Biochar and having it tested to determine quality and what might be expected before purchase of equipment. We would need more info about the quantity and chemical and physical properties of the plant material (and soil?) then what is marketable in that area before helping him. But he is thinking along the right lines – good for him.
